We receive several enquiries from local/International/corporate individuals who would want to volunteer with Lovedale. Those who seriously wish to volunteer may please go through the below mentioned contents.

We do not accept everyone who applies to volunteer with our programs. Our volunteers need to be creative, enthusiastic and resourceful self-starters.

We simply must be selective due to the nature of our work-a work with the most vulnerable section-Deprived Children!

What is volunteering?
Volunteering is an important expression of citizenship and an essential component of social equality. It is the commitment of time and energy for the benefit of society and the community and can take many forms. It is undertaken freely and by choice, without concern for financial gain.’

What can I do as a volunteer?
What you do as a volunteer depends very much on what you would like to achieve. Everyone has a personal reason for volunteering – emotional satisfaction, or to develop new skills. You should choose something that will help you fulfill your personal goal.

I want to work with children - do I need Police verification?
Yes, you indeed have to get one reference letter from your HR/University Head and a local police Verification certificate. (Police verification not applicable to foreign volunteers)

What type of volunteering Lovedale expects from you?

We need volunteers, who can help children in their school assignments, homework,
Special coaching for Mathematics, Science and other subjects on a regular basis.
Also, those who are skilled in Classical music, instrument music and sports,swimming are welcomed.

If you are a professional, you may render your service by enrolling with us as a volunteer.

 
     
  How much time I can spare for volunteering?
Minimum 6 hours a week.

Who are not eligible to volunteer

 
  • Individuals below 18 yrs and above 65yrs of age.
• Individuals with criminal track records.
• Individuals who simply wants to spend time.
• Those who suffer chronic and contagious illness.
• Nationalities who are denied entry by the Government of India.

We encourage Volunteers to join with Lovedale who can make significant changes in their lives. The opportunity is open for both Indian and International volunteers. The diversity of the volunteers in terms of culture, race, age, education, occupation provide the children with invaluable life experiences.

Over the past seven years we have had volunteers coming from all parts of the world – USA, Canada, UK, Spain, France, Netherlands, Australia, Japan,Thaivan .
   
 
 

Intersted volunteers please note:

  • That you should be above 18years of age to volunteer with us.
  • Along with your volunteering query,we need your CV mandatarily.
  • Enquiries withour CVs are not entertained
  • Upon your enquiry,if we find you eligible,you would receive the reply within three days,if not consider as rejected
  • Individuals who are highly asthmatic may please avoid a volunteering,as the weather in Bangalore geneally worsen asthmatic patients.
  • Selected volunteers would get a complete program kit regarding your volunteering,which has to be well-read,undestood and sign the participant agreement.
