WORKING ENVIRONMENT

As a group, we work in a non-hierarchical and cooperative environment. We are a team run organization  and all decisions are taken both by management and staff. Decisions are not made on a ‘one person, one vote’ basis but rather through dialogue and consensus.

Each member of the staff is completely responsible for the centre. To sustain this environment, the demand is that we suspend our strong opinions, emotions and judgements, and remain open-minded and willing to engage in dialogue.

We have a minimal support staff, and all staff members are involved in the daily running of the centre and campus. This includes work from  the class room, kitchen, land, maintenance , administration and fundraising.

The holistic and meaningful approach of Lovedale expands beyond basic survival needs of a child by long-term and meaningful interventions.

Our work requires tremendous commitment, long-term involvement and dedicated professionals. The future is promising for our children who are at Lovedale today, but it is the finest impact of our work model that will truly reflects on a 360 degree development of a child where he/she becomes a productive citizen for tomorrow.
