Lovedale is a small organization, currently extending support (2012) to 523 school students,65 unemployed youth, 40 deprived women,27 HIV infected children and 30 disabled children. The school /center does not receive funding from Government.

The financial philosophy of Lovedale  has been driven by two main concerns. Firstly, LDF should be an affordable  center for children and youth seriously exploring formal education, training and support-and  there should never be a specific  criterion for admission for anyone in need. Secondly, LDF should remain small, with a high teacher- student ratio. We believe in delivering quality results than quantity.

As a result we have consciously taken certain financial decisions. Adhoc donations do not cover all the running costs of the center (in a typical year cost per child would be Rs.28,000/-) . Teachers’ salaries are not market driven but rather support teachers to live a modest lifestyle (a full time teacher earns about Rs 9500 and a Head Teacher with Rs.25000/- per month in the financial year 2011-2012). There is a sense of austerity in our expenditure. We try harder to reduce the administration expenditure. Finally, the cost of creating a corpus  is not transferred to our regular donors.

Hence, we introduce, simple campaigns, most affordable donation modes to cater to every individual who strive to make lasting difference to our community.

Our program funding is solely raised among large hearted individuals, corporate and grant agencies.The board members contribute towards the administrative expenses,hence the sponsorships directlyhelp a child in studies, food and health care.

We want to make our Center self sufficient and then build a corpus for sustainability, expansion and any contingencies.We are very clear that our intention is not to create the common practice of any non profit sectors what alreadyexists around, but a scalable approach towards our  Mission.So, we work with corporations, foundations,trusts and  individuals donors to fund our program.
