An overview

OUR CENTER

"Banyan” is the name of our center and the four storey building has beautiful class rooms, apart from the state of the art Computer Lab, Music Room, Library, Dining/multipurpose hall.  Dormitories, centralized kitchen and spacious sit-outs. It was meticulously designed by Biome Environmental Architects (www.Biome-Solutions.com) to be a shining example of environmental best practice.  Highlights include;

70,000 mud bricks, which were hand made on site using earth from the excavation of the building’s basement.

A solar hot water and solar electricity system, producing 4KW of continuous power.

A Rainwater Harvesting Scheme, to allow rain water to be used for showers and hand washing.

Grey water recycling, where water from the kitchen, laundry, washing and bathing is naturally treated and re-used for flushing toilets.

Wide, open verandahs and large windows which provide light and a natural heating and cooling system, reducing the need for lights or electric air conditioners.

An indoor garden, helping to maintain the building’s temperature and providing a tranquil learning environment.
