Sanitation in village community:- An Overview
WSSCC[Water Supply & Sanitation Collaborative Council] dedicates the vast majority of its effort to sanitation and hygiene, while continuing some work on water. The rationale for this decision is simple: 2.6 billion people - or about 40% of the world’s population - do not have access to basic sanitation. These numbers shame humanity. The consequences in terms of human suffering and economic loss are enormous.
View of a typical rural village sanitation condition

Progress on sanitation is lagging far behind that on almost all other important development subjects, including water. The world is badly off-track to achieve the Millennium Development Goal target for sanitation. There are several reasons for this, notably: reticence to talk about the subject itself; lack of political leadership on the subject; inconsistent ways of tackling the problem; and inadequate finance.
Thus,Lovedale,in association with KOGA, which aims to initiate an Adult Education Center that provides literacy and business orientated education with primary food security to adults in the slums of Kigali-Rwanda has began the sanitation project in Kadgarahara village. This has been implimented by the young Director of KOGA, Ms.Brittney Merryweather from Canada.
